About the Creator
The Book Club Game was created by passionate reading specialist, Teri Oberstein Azar. Her 38-year career began at UCLA where she holds her teaching credentials, BA and M.Ed. She has taught in CA and abroad, in public and private schools, trained and supervised teachers, as well as lectured at UCI.
Teri has successfully used The Book Club Game to increase reading motivation, standardized test scores and all-around school performance for elementary through the college grade levels. She has used it as a catalyst for bringing families, classrooms, schools, neighborhoods and communities together through reading and communication. The Book Club Game has proven very effective with advanced and motivated readers, ESL students and parents, non-readers, and struggling readers, all empowered to build comprehension and communication skills together, on the same page.
